Main Street Minute: Panera Bread

Posted: Updated:

It's been a long time coming, but the wait is officially over. Panera Bread opens their doors Tuesday, February 4.

These shelves may be empty now, but come Tuesday morning, these baskets will be stocked with fresh bread and pastries.

"We have bakers here right now that are getting the dough ready. They'll bake all the dough tonight. Tomorrow morning at 6, it will be a full bakery," says Shane Quail, Panera Bread District Manager.

Panera Bread is a bakery café which specializes in soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas and we can't forget about their signature bread.

At the end of the day, if there's any baked goods available, Panera Bread gives them back to the community.

"We donate to different food shelves and charities throughout the community. Panera, in fact, donates over $100 million in products every year as a company," says Quail.

Customers can also give back to the Magic City. Every time a customer donates in the store, Panera Bread will match those numbers.

Besides supporting the town, Panera Bread helped the economy by bringing 75 to 80 new jobs. Employees have been trained for the past 6 weeks preparing for opening day.

Panera Bread is open every day from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays they open at 7 a.m.

For those charities or food pantries in Minot who are interested in teaming up with Panera, they're encouraged to contact the company.
