Main Street Minute: Main Street Books

Posted: Updated:

A business that's called Main Street home for several years is picking up and relocating. But for all of you book worms out there, don't worry; they're not moving too far. Main Street Books is just heading a few doors down to allow for more space.

Boxes are everywhere. And, books are being placed on the shelves as the business plans to open their new store front this weekend.

This is not the first or even the second time owner, Val Stadick has opted for a new space, this will be her third.

"I knew that if the opportunity came up that I could purchase a building, it would be my last move. So, this is it," says Stadick.

This space is three times the size of her previous location. And, her staff is working around the clock to put the finishing touches together before doors officially open.

"We've been moving and packing. We've been working on this for two months. We've been painting, hauling, exposing brick and scarping floors," says Stadick.

And, with more space, that means Main Street Books is able to have a larger children section for of those young readers.

"I have some favorite moments in the bookstore. But, one of things I really do love about books is I firmly believe that they can change your life for the better," says Stadick.

Doors open this Saturday at 10 a.m.

As of now, Main Street Books will be operating under their normal business hours. They'll be open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. If you want to check out they're new store, they're located on 8 South Main Street.
