Greek Life Hosts Blood Drive

Posted: Updated:

Sometimes, a big portion of a college education comes from sitting at a desk reading a textbook. But, for one group at Minot State, they were thinking outside the classroom Tuesday afternoon.

Typically, blood supply is low this time of year because of the holidays and cold weather conditions.

In effort to help out and give back to the community, the Beta Theta Sorority, Sigma Delta Sorority, and Mu Sigma Tau Fraternity at MSU held their semi annual blood drive.

Students, faculty and staff, along with people from the community came out from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wellness Center to donate blood in the hopes of saving a life.

"We're here to serve the community. That's what Greek life is. That's how it always has been.  They've always been here to support the community and the campus," says Roger Herrmann, Mu Sigma Tau House Manager.

There will be another Greek Life blood drive on Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Group X Fitness Room.
