Young Professionals Raise Money for Domestic Violence Center

Posted: Updated:

The Minot Young Professionals are giving back to Minot's Domestic Violence Crisis Center in a unique way.

In effort to help Minot State University's Power of 100 Campaign, the Minot Young Professionals  host the first annual Underwear Because We Care fundraiser Thursday evening.

When women come to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, often times, they leave behind everything they have.  So, the group is asking for new undergarments and monetary donations with all proceeds benefiting the Domestic Violence Crisis Center.

"We're hoping to get at least 100 items to donate, so that we can meet the Minot State Power of 100 theme.  So, that's our goals, but I guess skies the limit.  We're hoping for a good turn out," says Kelsey Fagerland, event coordinator.

The event is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Sleep Inn and Suites in Minot.  Admission is $5 or $2 with a donation of a new undergarment.  For more information, visit: www.ypminot.com
