North Dakota Oil and Gas Industry Hits Record High

North Dakota's oil industry is getting closer to that magic number of producing one million barrels per day. And according to the Department of Mineral Resources, November's production numbers set records, from the amount of oil produced per day to the number of operating wells.

The report also showed, gas flaring is up two percent to 30 percent. Mineral Resources Director Lynn Helms says the increase came because of the planned shutdown of the Tioga gas plant that month. The plant switched operations to expand into a different system, which will go on line in early February.

Later this month, the anti flaring task force, comprised of industry leaders and presents its findings and suggestions to reducing flaring.
