Judge Sentences Kiefer on Animal Abuse Charges

William Kiefer chose once again to not appear in court on animal abuse charges. His sentencing was this morning.

South Central District Judge Tom Schneider sentenced Kiefer to one year in jail with six months suspended for the starvation deaths of more than 100 horses in Burleigh and Morton counties. The sentence can be served in jail or by electronic monitoring.

Kiefer also will be on supervised probation for two years and pay a $750 fine in both Burleigh and Morton counties to a humane society or Triple H Horse Rescue.

His sentence will start January 9, 2014.
