Postal Service Holds Job Fair

Posted: Updated:

With more people living in North Dakota, there's a greater need to fill job openings within the United States Postal Service. To compensate for the growth and lack of retention, USPS employees have been forced to work longer hours.

In effort to fill all of the open positions, USPS is traveling around the western part of the state this week to recruit new employees. And, on Tuesday, they held a job fair at Minot Job Service.

More than 50 people came out to learn more about employment opportunities at USPS, and to apply for jobs in the following categories: casual positions, mail processing clerks, rural carrier associates and city carrier assistants.

"Job fairs are really doing well for us because when people stop in the post offices themselves, they are so overburdened already it's hard to answer all the questions that they would like to ask. So, that's why we hold these job fairs to inform people more of what we have to offer," says Tammy Zidon, USPS Walhalla Postmaster.

There will be USPS job fairs in Dickinson, Crosby and Watford City this week.
