Vendors Help Domestic Violence Crisis Center

Posted: Updated:

It is 11 days until Christmas.  For many of Santa's elves that means they're making a Christmas list and checking it twice.  And, that's exactly what people were doing today at the Vegas Motel in Minot. More than 30 vendors and crafters from the area came together for the Second Annual Gift of Giving event.

From shopping to making Christmas ornaments and taking pictures with Santa, there was something for kids of all ages.

A portion of the proceeds from today's event will be donated to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center in Minot, which will help the non-profit organization continue to offer its services to the community in the New Year.

"Well, it is really important to be a part of a community, and Minot's growing as everyone knows, and with that comes [the need for] more help and charities need more help.  "And, if there is just one little thing we can do to try to help assist them, we're more than willing and happy to do that," says event coordinator Keri Hoover.

Last year, the Vegas Motel donated about $3,000 to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center.  But, this year, they hope to double that.
