Bohl Continues to Lead Bison

Posted: Updated:

Coaches and players like a routine.

For North Dakota State football, their routine was thrown out the window when Craig Bohl agreed to be the next head coach at Wyoming, but he and his staff will continue to lead the Bison in the playoffs.

This week, they host Coastal Carolina in the FCS quarterfinals.

And while the Bison have a game to get ready for, you could probably guess a lot of the questions today were about Wyoming.

Does Coach Bohl feel distraction will be a factor this week.

"This group has been good about being focused at the task at hand. And they're able to compartmentalize a lot of things too. I'd like to think that my nature is the same thing. I recognize the challenge is getting the football team ready for through the playoffs, and I would have not accepted the responsibility to continue to lead this football team, and make sure we're set and ready to go if that task would not be something I was capable of," says Bohl.

It is unusual in a coaching change that the current school wants him to stay for the rest of the season, and that the new university is willing to allow its new coach to do so.

"The administration there has been, they want us to complete the task here, and when I say our task, that's exactly what  mean. I look and say this is the 2013 NDSU Bison, and we're going to do everything we can to win our third national championship, and Coastal Carolina sets right in the cross hairs of that," says Bohl.

The Bison beat Furman in the second round last week after getting a bye.

The Chanticleers have playoff wins against Bethume-Cookman and last week at Montana.

Just a reminder that we'll be on the air from the Fargodome at 10 a.m. CT with the pre-game show.

Game coverage will be provided by EPSN.
