Department of Transportation Issues Travel Advisory

Posted: Updated:

Snow covers the roads in Minot, and drivers are taking their time. After Minot's first snow storm a few weeks ago, there were several traffic delays and crashes within city limits. But Monday's overall snowfall has not been a problem for drivers.

The Minot Police Department says they've been pleasantly surprised by the lack of calls they've received due to weather related accidents. Although, they haven't had to respond to many crashes on Monday, that doesn't mean the roads are in perfect condition.

"Just because the roadway has been plowed, doesn't mean that the dangers are gone. Obviously, you can have glare ice. Some circumstances, you could have snow that may have melted and didn't evaporate completely. And, suddenly that's a sheet of ice as well," says senior patrolman Aaron Moss.

Moss reminds everyone to take it slow.
