What's Trending 11/15/2013

Posted: Updated:

Last week on What's Trending, we talked about North Dakotans doing good things for the community. We're continuing that trend this week by focusing on The God's Child Project.

The God's Child Project aims to send underprivileged kids in poor countries to school. They have clinics, schools, and other valuable resources helping to target the roots of poverty. Their office in Bismarck has a store up front that you may not know about. All of the items available help fund the project. Kristin Clouston, with the God's Child Project, says during the holiday season it's nice to give a gift that pays it forward.

"It's Christmas and a lot of people think about themselves at this time," says Kristin. "Like, 'Oh what am I going to get this year.' But there are gifts out there that you can buy for your loved ones that are really nice but they help someone else in return."

They have a ton of stuff to choose from. Beautifully handmade jewelry, purses, kitchen accessories, you name it. Definitely worth a stop. The store up front is open Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm. They're located on Memorial Highway. "Like" them on Facebook for more information.
