"I would say as a back row defenseman it helps a lot. Our hitters were hitting the ball down. Our setter Ashley Gathman was doing great. All over, I think it boosts our confidence as a team tremendously," senior Carson Held says.
That belief will be huge if the girls can carry it over against St. Mary's Thursday. Minot lost to the Saints twice this season. The Majettes haven't played since last Tuesday and in that off time, she's putting in plans to hopefully surprise the Saints.
"We're actually going to take a look at changing our defensive formation and changing our rotation a little bit so we'll see how that goes. We are going to play them a little bit differently in the past," Jebens says.
"We're going against a really good outside hitting team so we have to have our blocks down and we're working on our defense," senior hitter Jerica Hanson.
The WDA tournament begins Thursday in Jamestown. Minot will play St. Mary's in the last match of the day.
