Ward County Road Tour

Posted: Updated:

With winter quickly approaching, the Ward County Highway Department is working to finish up their 2013 road projects.

Today they held an annual tour with Ward County Commissioners to review their current work, and what still needs to be completed.  After the 2011 flood, temporary repair work was made to County highways, but this year, permanent fixes have been made.  Top soil and pavement has been laid and grade raises have been made in areas dealing with high water levels, but there's more work to be done, "For next year we'll be working on some of our paving projects scheduled for next year.  We'll be looking at a slide repair up by Kenmare that's been affected for a few years, we've got a few more grade raises, and most of the plans are complete.  We're working on some right of way, and just getting through some funding issues on a couple of them," stated Dana Larsen, Ward County Engineer.

The Ward County Highway Department is also gearing up for the upcoming Winter Season, they've got their plows and blades ready for the first substantial snowfall.
