Special Olympics Wrap Up

Posted: Updated:

Special Olympics North Dakota's state bowling tournament wrapped up this morning and some athletes left with more than a ribbon or medal.

More than 200 student athletes from the University of Mary took turns volunteering on both days. The athletes worked in shifts and say that the special olympic athletes show them the real meaning of team work.

"For pretty much every sport you have to have teamwork and they don't go against each other-everyone always says 'you did a good job, you did a good job', and we say that for sports all the time because that's just basically what we have to do for in order for everyone to be on top of their game," says U-Mary softball team member, Demaree Rodriguez. And, I don't know, seeing that the good and bad in their bowling makes me think that everything is ok and you just go on to the next thing and I love that.
