Students Put on Costume Parade

Posted: Updated:

Halloween costumes are like wedding dresses, you usually only wear it once. At Pioneer School in Bismarck today, kids had the opportunity to wear their outfits twice in one day. While there was no red carpet, these kids looked like celebrities parading from classroom to classroom in their Halloween finest.

"They're very excited, they love the parade. They love to get dressed up. I mean, the smiles, you can hardly wipe them off their faces" explained third grade teacher, Jody Netzer.

The costume parade kicks off an exciting night for kids like David Rousseau.

"I really enjoy getting out and trick or treating."

Aubrey Sampson is dressing like an owl, but other costumes caught her eye.

"The pirate girl and a vampire."

Students walked the hallways and put their best foot forward to show off their costumes. But, according to Janae Erenneise the best part of Halloween is yet to be unwrapped.

"Because you get to get a lot of candy."

Some of the more popular costumes at the parade were princesses, super heroes and Captain America. Just like any red carpet event, parental paparazzi showed up to take lots of pictures of all the smiling faces.
