City Officials Discuss Renaissance Zone

Posted: Updated:

Members of the Renaissance Zone Review Committee and the City Planner met today at the Public Works Building to discuss and approve several flood homes in the Renaissance Zone.

The group walked through two homes along the 600 block of 2nd Avenue Northeast today.

Residents were required to fill out paperwork before they started working on their homes to qualify for the program.

And, after the final walkthroughs today, the committee approved the two homes for possible financial incentives, various tax exemptions, and credits.

This includes a tax break on their building and not having to pay state income tax for 5 years.  The tax break does not include their land.

To this date, roughly 12 homes or rentals have gone through the process since the flood.

For more about the program or to find out if you qualify, go to: www.minotnd.org and click on the Renaissance Zone tab.
