City Manager Plans To Retire

Posted: Updated:

He has spent forty years working for the City of Minot.  But now, City Manager David Waind decided it was time to announce his retirement.

It all began with a six month internship back in 1974. Later in his career, he was a full-time city clerk where he was promoted to be assistant City Manager. In 1997, he took over as the City Manager, where he has served for 17 years. But, even with all of that work behind him, Waind says there is always more that he can do.

"I don't expect to be sitting around. I'm at a point where I feel like I still have some working years left. And, I'd like to find something to do that would be of interest. And, I'll give that a look as time goes on now," says Waind.

Waind is set to retire March 2014. In the next few months, the search will begin for the next City Manager.
