Police Investigate Trespassing Man

Posted: Updated:

A suspicious individual has been causing alarm in northwest Mandan. In the past week, the Mandan Police Department responded to two calls about a suspicious man dressed in all black and a ski mask.

The first reported that a man was seen outside a young woman's house, and then a few hours later she saw him again laying outside her bedroom window. The second incident happened last Thursday just three blocks away from the original call, when a different young woman woke up at four in the morning and saw a dark figure standing in her bedroom doorway, she screamed and the figure fled.

Police canvassed the area both times and were unable to find the suspect.

"Basically, we have to rely on the public. We tend to see a lot of times people see something suspicious, but they'll wait several hours or talk to their neighbors, and they'll say, 'Oh yeah. We saw this guy walking around last night, too. We should call now.' What we really want to get across to the people is if someone in your neighborhood is wearing a ski mask or doesn't look like they belong and is dressed in dark clothing, call us so at least patrol can go find this guy," says Detective Jason Neuberger.

Police are unsure if these are related to the instances that happened in Bismarck a few weeks ago. If you have any information, please call the Mandan Police Department at 701-667-3250.
