More Aid for Minot Residents

Posted: Updated:

Good news for Minot residents still working to recover from the 2011 Mouse River Flood.

Starting Monday October 14th, people will have the chance to apply for the second round of funding through the Community Development Block Grant.  Homeowners will be able to apply for up to $10,000 Dollars in purchase reimbursements.  There are requirements that homeowners must follow, but 51% of the total funds will go to low to moderate incomes, while 49% will go to incomes of any level, the first time this grant will allow that in Minot.

"We still hear from people that still need to maybe finish a bathroom, maybe they've only got one functioning, or they may still need to get sheet rock up in a room, but they've got a majority of the house done, or something like that.  They may still need to get their flooring in, they're still on the sub-floor or whatever.  There are definitely still people that are out there homes," stated Cindy Hemphill, Financial Director for the City of Minot.

The application can be filled out online at Minotreimb.com.  Applications will be available until December 31st.  Hemphill expects funds to given out residents March 2014.
