Ramstad Middle School Comes Together

Posted: Updated:

There's about a month left until teachers move in and Ramstad Middle School construction is right on track. Exterior work is beginning to wrap up. Fortunately for the construction site, weather has allowed work to move along as planned.

"It's exciting to see the changes right now on a day to day basis," says Mark Vollmer, Minot Public Schools Superintendent.

Workers will now concentrate on the interior of the building.

"End of this week or the beginning of next week carpet should be installed on the third flood of the academic wing and we'll be ready to go into final cleaning of that area, so we are moving along rather quickly," says Vollmer.

"A lot of the finishes are wrapping up, we have a final cleaning scheduled to start in about 2 weeks through the classroom wing. The gym, the athletic center, those areas are finishing up. There's a fair amount of work to do but it will come together," says Jason Peterson, Project Manager, Kraus-Anderson.

The parking lot is coming together and progress is being made on 36th Avenue that runs East-West on the north side of the building.

"We are feeling much better about that road getting done. 16th is done, going north of 30th Avenue, so that is coming together," says Vollmer.

The vandalism that happened in August did not push back the move in date.

Teacher move in date is November 16th, and students will come in right after Thanksgiving break.
