Lineman Work to Restore Power

Posted: Updated:

An early winter storm system dumped heavy, wet snow across southwestern North Dakota. The storm left broken power poles and lines in its wake, and left hundreds of people without power.

Mor-Gran-Sioux Electric Cooperative and Slope Electric Cooperative began restoration efforts on Friday and line crews continue to work to repair damage. Crews are responding as quickly as possible to remove dangerous wires and poles from the roads.

Residents of Grant County may be out of power for the next several days.

Consumers who see a downed power pole or line are asked to stay away and report them to Mor-Gran-Sou by calling 701-663-0297, 701-597-3301 or 1-800-750-8212, or emailing safety@morgransou.com with location information and a photo if possible.

An early winter storm system dumped 2 to 3 feet of heavy, wet snow in portions of southwestern North Dakota, breaking power poles and lines, and disrupting electric service to hundreds of Slope Electric Cooperative member-consumers in the counties of Adams, Bowman, Hettinger and Slope. Line crews started restoration efforts on Friday and continue working from before sunup to after sundown, with assistance from Cass County Electric Cooperative, North Central Electric Cooperative, Govert Powerline Services, 3C Construction and 4T Construction.
