Cashwise Brings in Jobs

Posted: Updated:

With about 15 departments in the 58,000 square foot location, Cashwise grocery store in Minot knew they had a lot of opportunity to enhance the job market.

Last minute preparations are all that's left to do before the new Cashwise foods open their doors in Minot.

For the past few weeks employees have been stocking the shelves getting ready for opening day.

But they've had a lot of hands to help.

"We're lucky to have vendors and people from the other stores that come out and help out in any given day. We'll have 30 to 50 people here helping out." Tim Cegla, Cashwise Store Manager.

Cashwise has hired about 130 employees to better serve the Minot community.

"We've had a lot of local people that we've hired here. We brought in a few people from outside areas but probably 90 percent of the people are going to be from this area. So, it's always good to be a leader in the community to help with job growth," says Cegla.

For the past few months, the employees have been getting up to speed on what it takes to run a grocery store.

"Anything from customer service to food safety to tonight, we're doing phone training. Any training to get ready for the store opening," says Cegla.

Once you walk into the supermarket, there will be a variety of departments to choose from. They have a full service meat department, deli department, bakery and produce department.

"One of the new things that our company is going to have we have a bulk food section that we are really excited about where its kinda like the old days where you come in and grab the bag," says Cegla.

Doors open at 6am. Cashwise will be open 24 hours a day.
