Local Oktoberfest

Posted: Updated:

Mandan's Dykshoorn Park transformed into an autumn playland today.

Oktoberfest celebrates our regions German heritage with a variety of food booths, family activities, live music and of course, plenty of beer.

From four to six o'clock, a beer tasting was held, with samples from local breweries. And, Organizers are hoping to make this an annual event to celebrate heritage and the changing seasons.

"We decided to do this because we thought a lot of Germans around this area, we're looking for a good fall event, and we wanted to pick a nice day," says Dell Wetsch, from the Mandan Progress Association.

The event will be running until eleven o'clock tonight. Admission is five dollars for adults and ages twelve and under are free.
