MAFB Employee Found Dead in Home

Posted: Updated:

A third person connected to the Minot Air Force Base has died.

The base says a Department of Defense civilian employee was found dead on September 17th at his Minot home.

When 54 year old Jeffrey Lanser with the 5th Comptroller Squadron didn't show up at work, base leadership called emergency responders to his home.

Lanser was pronounced dead at the scene.

He served more than 34 years in the United States Air Force with 26 years spent on active duty and 8 years as a civilian employee. Lanser had been in Minot since 1997.

Two other airmen were also recently found dead in their homes. Tech. Sgt. Christopher Summers with the 91st Missile Wing found unresponsive in his Glenburn home on September 10th. Senior Airman Terry McKissack with the 5th Bomb Wing was found unresponsive on September 18th in his dorm room on base.

The causes of the death for all the men are still under investigation.
