Bluehawks Take on MSU Northern

Posted: Updated:

It it not common-place to find a college football team playing the same opponent twice in the same regular season. The Blue Hawks opened the year against MSU-Northern and they play the Lights again this week.

Dickinson State dropped the first game of the year 14-0 and DSU is still looking for its first victory of the season. The location of the game has changed and Hank Biesiot says Northern's play has improved as well.

"Northern Montana is coming off a big win. They beat a good Eastern Oregon team. A team that had 400 yards of offense against Portland State and Northern shut them down, had nearly 50 points so they're a good club. They're always tough at home maybe this is our theme and maybe we'll play better on the road," says head coach Hank Biesiot.

Coach Biesiot says his team is a young team and he knows that inexperience also means peaks and valleys in the performance department.

"Concistency is the big thing. We had bad moments both offensively and defensively to where we did alright but we've been slow starters in all three of our games so far so I don't know what if we need to scrimmage for a quarter before the first quarter starts but we got to make a change and we just got to start faster. I think that's important," says Biesiot.
