Minot's Flooded Home Survey

Posted: Updated:

Eighty three homes were purchased in the Minot's first round of flood damaged home acquisitions.  And the Magic City is gearing up for another round of buyout offers, but they need your help.

To determine the best way to use funding from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, the city will be sending out surveys to Minot residents.  The city needs homeowner help in order to meet HUD guidelines.  Even if you're not interested in a home buyout, you're asked to fill out the quick questionnaire.  And every homeowner who's gets a survey, isn't guaranteed to receive a buyout offer, "HUD has the limitations with regards to income levels, we're restricted to 50% of which must be spent on low to moderate income, so 50% can be spent on people that are not low to moderate income.  So knowing those numbers is going to help us design the program and maximize the funds," said Bob Batherson, Vice President of CDM Smith, the company that helping Minot formulate the survey.

Any Minot residents who have questions about the survey are urged to contact CDM Smith at (701)-837-5813.
