Posted: Updated:

A man who fled from a crash north of Oakes was arrested this morning.

Three people were injured in the two-vehicle crash that happened around 11:30 Wednesday morning at the intersection of Highway 1 and Dickey County Road 1. Sgt. Bryan Niewind says Gabriel Ekstrom failed to stop at the intersection, causing the crash, and then ran into a corn field.

The driver of the other vehicle, and two passengers in the truck were injured and taken to the Oakes community hospital.

Ekstrom was arrested without incident on a felony charge of Leaving the Scene of an Injury Crash and misdemeanor charges of Driving Under Suspension, Aggravated Reckless Driving and Eluding.  He was transported to the Barnes County Jail.
