Oil Production Numbers Are Lower Than Anticipated

June oil production numbers are out, and they were lower than anticipated.  Lynn Helms, director of the Department of Mineral Resources, says he expected 830,000 barrels to be produced per day. Actual production for June came in about one percent lower at 821 barrels per day.

"Talked with some operators and you know they concurred. They said when there's load restrictions on it just isn't reasonable and all to try and mobilize a frack crew and all of the sand and water and equipment that they have to move and so only the wells right along the main roads get fracked," says Helms.

He says since the restrictions have been removed, he expects a surge in production in July or August.
