Work Begins on US Highway 2/52 Bypass

Posted: Updated:
Road work is going on all over town. Between the city, county, and the Department of Transportation, there are currently about 50 projects going on in the greater Minot area. And, starting tomorrow, there will be one more project to add to the list.

Surface work along the east and west bound lanes of US Highway 2 and 52 Bypass in Minot is starting up. Construction begins at the 16th Street Southwest overpass and continues east to the junction of 55th Street Southeast. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction with reduced speeds.

The North Dakota DOT encourages drivers to slow down and use extra caution in construction zones, especially when flaggers are present.

"Be patient. Allow more time because you're going to have to.  Our construction season is short.  We have a lot of work to do and it's going to interfere with speed of the projects," said DOT assistant district engineer Bob Allen.

The project is expected to be finished in October.  For more information about construction projects and road conditions in the area, visit: www.dot.nd.gov.
