Broadway Bridge Renovation

Posted: Updated:

North Dakota Department of Transportation held a public information meeting Thursday evening to discuss upcoming renovations on US 83 Broadway Bridge.

Plans include replacing the decks and making a wider pedestrian path. Traffic will be impacted during the time of construction.

"The deck replacements of the southbound bridge were built in 1962, the northbound in 1971. The bridge decks themselves have reached the end of their useful life so the DOT has determined the best interest at this time is to replace those bridge decks to extend the life of the bridges. It's important that they do that to maintain the structure life into the future," says Jeremy McLaughlin, Project Manager.

Construction will begin spring 2014 on the southbound lane; the northbound will be the year after.
