Ticknor Joins Joerger in Memphis

Posted: Updated:

Duane Ticknor and Dave Joerger are back on the same bench coaching together, but this time it's in the NBA.

Dave's first professional coaching job was as an assistant to Tick with the Wizards. Joining Joerger's staff in Memphis should not come as much of a surprise for fans in our area.

"We've been talking about this the last two or three years when he's been interviewing with other NBA teams. I'm so happy that it's Memphis, so Dave didn't have to move his family and uproot. And he feels comfortable here. And I've been down here so many times, I feel like it's home for me too. So, it's really exciting. I'm more happy for Dave than I am for myself. Now, this is a great opportunity for me, but the timing is right, and the place is right, but more importantly the person is right," says Ticknor.

Ticknor is doing individual workouts with some players right now, and he'll help with the Grizzlies summer league team as well.
