Cramer Forms Veterans Advisory Board

Posted: Updated:

Congressman Kevin Cramer has formed a Veterans Advisory Board.

The group of North Dakota veterans will provide guidance on important issues for former and retired service members.

"Our veterans, young and old, face serious issues which deserve the full attention of Congress. The delay in claims processing at the Veterans Administration and the lack of a strong support network for those returning home from our current wars are unacceptable government failures, and I look forward to working with this brain trust of North Dakota veterans and advocates who know firsthand the kind of solutions needed to fix our veteran support system," says Cramer.

The newly appointed members of the board include Lt. Col. Davina French, Brenda Bergsrud, John Hanson, Rusty Ouart, Warren Tobin, and Lonnie Wangen.

The Veterans Advisory Board will hold their first meeting in Bismarck on August 5. They will tackle a variety of issues including the VA disability claims backlog, the President's proposed medical treatment fee increases, suicide prevention, sexual assault, and programs for newly retired servicemembers.
