Don't Buy It, Until We Try It: Cafe Cup

Posted: Updated:

When you go to use your Keurig machine, you can't forget to use the k-cups.  But, after you're done brewing your favorite coffee or tea, you have to throw it away.

Well, this may work a little better for you.  It's called a café cup. All you have to do is put your favorite coffee or tea inside the little cup and put in the machine.  But, will it actually help you make your favorite coffee or tea?  Well, "don't buy it, until we try it."

The smell of a freshly brewed cup of java coming from the Keurig coffee maker is all too familiar to some coffee lovers.  But, there's one problem.

"We have to replace the k-cups a lot because you can only use them once.  It's a single use thing," says Jordan Sampleton.

And, over time, those single cups of coffee can start to add up.

"It is a little more expensive, but the convenience is also nice for our guests and things like that.  But, we just don't know of any other option at this point," says Sampleton.

So, we decided to put a reusable k-cup to the test.

The café cup sells for around $10, which is about the same price as a box of regular k-cups.

It's simple, really. Just open up the café cup, take the scooper, add one full scoop, and close it up. And then, put it in the Keurig machine.

"And, then, it will fit right here like the disposable one did," says Sampleton.

Just add a cup of water, and it's time to brew.

Within minutes, you'll have a fresh cup of  coffee.

"I thought they were really simple to use.  For the two steps you added, which is the scoop and clean up, it seems very worth it to save that extra money. And you can also choose whatever regular ground coffee you want to use," says Sampleton.
