Josh Kadrmas

Weather has been a passionate interest of mine, starting from my very first memory of a torrential thunderstorm at my uncle's graduation when I was only 4 years old!  I set up a monitor in front of a weather map in the basement of my parents' house in Dickinson and imitated the likes of Jerry Bartz and Mike McVey on KFYR-TV.  I enjoyed talking about the weather and I was so fascinated with various weather elements that I knew I wanted to be a broadcast meteorologist.   My mentor during college, Kevin Lawrence, was a tremendous asset in helping me grind through those nasty Calculus and Atmospheric Dynamics classes!

I have lived in North Dakota my entire life and I absolutely enjoy the dramatic weather changes Mother Nature throws at us. I am a proud Dickinson High School alum (go Midgets!) and graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Dickinson State University with a degree in Business Administration.  When I'm not filling in as a meteorologist, I am a production assistant for our evening newscasts or am operating a camera for one of our many live NBC North Dakota Sports productions.  Otherwise, I am employed full-time for the N.D. Department of Human Services as a Computer & Network specialist.  I truly have the best of both worlds in serving the state's citizens and being able to share my enthusiasm of weather to you, the viewers.

I enjoy all four seasons North Dakota has to offer, as it allows me to enjoy my favorite activities: storm chasing, fishing, golfing, bike riding, softball, skiing, and running with my dog, Chase.

I hope my passion in meteorology is evident and that I convey the weather in a way that matters to you.
