Main Street Minute: BNSF and U.S. Forest Service

Posted: Updated:

BNSF Railway opened a new Economic Development office in downtown Bismarck. The railway says the expanded presence will help them serve existing and new customers in the region. They say the office will help them continue strong relationships with local economic development partners and create new opportunities to support economic growth in North Dakota.

The office is in the Wells Fargo building on East Broadway, and will house economic development, sales and marketing staff.

The U.S. Forest Service Dakota Prairie Grasslands Supervisor's Office is moving to a temporary, temporary location. The DPG moved to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service building on Miriam Avenue in Bismarck, after their lease expired in their old location.

But this is also just a temporary move.

They will move to another temporary location later this summer and hope to have a permanent location within a year. About eight people work at the office. Forest Service maps and recreation passes are available for purchase at the temporary location.

Office hours for the Dakota Prairie Grasslands are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
