Housing Incentive Fund

Posted: Updated:

The state has kicked in another $15.4 million into the North Dakota Housing Incentive Fund. The money goes towards construction of what is considered to be affordable housing.

It is now ready for applications from multi-family housing developers. But the balance of the fund will continue to rely on taxpayer contributions.

"The taxpayers are our primary source of contributions into the fund. They receive a dollar for dollar reduction against their state income tax liability, so every dollar that they invest in affordable housing, brings them back a dollar against their state income tax liability," said Director of Planning and Housing Development Jolene Kline.

The allocation plan is available online at www.ndhousingincentivefund.org or www.ndhfa.org.

Applications for the first funding round must be submitted by 5 p.m. (CDT) on Friday, June 28, to Planning and Housing Development Division Director Jolene Kline at NDHFA, PO Box 1535, Bismarck, ND, 58502-1535.

For more information on the Housing Incentive Fund, call (701) 328-8080, (800) 292-8621, (800)366-6888 (TTY) or email info@ndhfa.org.
