Main Street Minute: FEMCO, Wingate and Ground Round

If it's made of metal, FEMCO Spencer Harris can probably fix it. FEMCO has been providing field service and maintenance work to the oil industry since 1954. They opened a Bismarck location in October, and are already running out of room. The Bismarck location employs four people, and may add two more this summer.

"The original reason we opened was for the oil field work, the big rig service work and that's been the main product since we opened up," said Dave Polsfuss with FEMCO.

Polsfuss says oil field companies often don't want to wait several weeks for a part to be replaced, so they turn to FEMCO to repair it, or create a new one. In June, they'll be expanding to a larger facility where they can bring larger pieces of equipment in for repair.

A new hotel is open in North Bismarck. The Wingate by Wyndham is at 1421 Skyline Boulevard. The 84 room hotel offers a fitness center, heated indoor pool and a whirlpool.

The Ground Round in Bismarck has a new manager. Courtney Pfeifer was promoted to general manager after working in the food and beverage industry for more than 10 years.

Several new businesses have also opened in downtown Bismarck. Jim Christianson will take a look at them tomorrow in Inside Business.
