Main Street Minute: Salon Concrete and Tap-In Tavern

Posted: Updated:

A downtown beauty salon is adding one more service. Salon Concrete has been open for about a year, and recently added two tanning booths. One is a traditional tanning bed, and the other, a stand up tanner. Owner Melissa Meier says business has already been busy during the month she's offered tanning.

"I just decided I'd offer tanning downtown being as there's no other tanning booths close and I started with just one bed and it was really busy so I added the stand up bed."

Other booths at Salon Concrete offer pedicures and manicures, hair cuts, and massages. Appointments at Salon Concrete can be made online on its Facebook site. Meier also accepts walk-ins.

A bar in Bismarck once again has a new name. The Sandbar on Memorial Highway, formerly Jorgy's, is now the Tap-In Tavern. Four owners purchased the bar a few weeks ago, and made some renovations and improvements inside. They doubled the number of beers available on tap, and offer craft brews.

Tap-In Tavern will have live music and karaoke.

Happy Hour specials are available at Tap-In Tavern from noon to 2:00 and 5:00 to 7:00 Monday through Friday.
