I started at KFYR in October of 2011 and am very excited to call North Dakota home! I grew up just outside of Phoenix, Arizona and have never lived anywhere with cold winters or snow, so you will probably see me all bundled up most of the time!
I graduated Cum Laude from Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications with a BA in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science. While at ASU I had the opportunity to intern at various media organizations including KTVK-3TV and the Arizona Republic, where I was the breaking news reporter for the West Valley. I also interned at Arizona Capitol Television where I got to witness Arizona's immigration law work it's way through the House and Senate. Seeing reactions from people on both sides of the issue when the bill was signed into law confirmed my desire to work in journalism and share people's stories. During my final semester I had the opportunity to report for ASU's award winning student newscast Cronkite Newswatch that aired on PBS, where I interviewed people from many backgrounds including Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
When I am not working I like to spend time with my family and friends. I am newly married and enjoy having a good time laughing and hanging out with my husband, Brian. We love to travel and are excited to explore the Bismarck area and get to know our new home.
I am always looking for new story ideas so if you have anything you think is interesting or important please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
