It's not secret North Dakota State graduated some outstanding football players following its fourth straight FCS National Championship.
Linebacker is a position group looking for some new guys to take over.
Dickinson's Levi Jordheim hopes to be part of the rotation.
"He's doing well, just like every freshman out here," says NDSU defensive coordinator Matt Entz. "He has had moments where he struggles and the game is very fast. It's different from high school, he's playing against the best of the best. He just has to continue to come to work everyday and he's going to be a real good one for us down the road and I've said it before, you hope you have kids like that because he is mentally locked in and physically he has a lot of tools."
Defensive end is another position looking for depth, especially with Kyle Emanuel eyeing the NFL.
Bismarck's Stanley Jones has missed some of the spring drills, but he is part of the plan at that position.
"He's getting a lot of mental reps and learning some of the things, but he's not on the grass, but that's where you really understand concepts and schemes," said Bison head coach Chris Klieman. "I can just see it in his eyes and visiting with him, he's learning. He'll be ready to go through the summer. It is so important for him because coach Kramer will get him involved and having him go a lot of drills and some of the things he misses in the spring, but there's no question Stanley needs to be in our rotation come next fall."
The Green-Gold game will be live on Saturday. NBC North Dakota Sports will be on the air at 1 p.m. CDT with the ring ceremony, followed by the scrimmage at about 1:30 p.m. CDT on Saturday.
Coach Klieman plus Kyle Emanuel, John Crockett and Christian Dudzik are scheduled to join Brian Shawn, Lee Timmerman and Beth Hoole during the statewide telecast on KFYR-TV, KQCD-TV, KUMV-TV, KMOT-TV and KVLY-TV.
