The Midgets have only lost twice in the last 16 games, and those two losses came by a combined three runs. That has the Midgets tied with Bismarck at the top of the WDA so far.
Dickinson only has three seniors on the roster, but those three have grabbed control of the team from the start this year.
“It’s kind of a big spot to just take control of the juniors and just tell them what’s got to be done. I mean, I’ve played since my Freshman year, I’ve learned a lot in those years, and I use what I learned and hand it down to the Juniors and Sophomores,” said senior Michael McChesney.
Head coach of the Midgets, Pete Dobitz, said: “I mean the thing we have is we don’t have a superstar. We have a bunch of kids that want to play for each other, want to work as hard as they can for each other and that’s really what you need as a team.”
While Dobitz may say the team doesn’t have a superstar, they do have some players who are really good. One of those is senior Michael McChesney who will be in the sports spotlight tomorrow.
