The Bismarck 13s made a statement as they opened up play at the Babe Ruth World Series in Jamestown, NY Sunday. In the first game of pool play, they beat the host team from Jamestown 11-1 in 5 innings.
Connor Weikum pitched a complete game 2-hitter while striking out 5. Nick Hinsz hit the walk-off single in the 5th inning to give the Bismarck 13s the win by the 10-run rule.
They continue pool play tomorrow, taking on the winner from the Ohio Valley regional at 1:30 p.m. Central Time.
