Watford City Man to Serve Five Years for Child Pornography

A man that pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography heard his sentence today in Watford City.

Anthony Shields received a five year sentence and will serve a little more than three years since he has already served 693 days.

Once the Shields is released, he will have to serve five years of supervised probation and must register as a sex offender.

This case started back in 2010, when Shields was charged with 20 Felony counts of possession of child pornography.

He was arrested in 2014 and late last year, he pleaded guilty to two felony charges. 18 charges were dismissed.
