A leaking pipe and vandalism caused two oil and gas related spills in North Dakota.

The state oil and gas division says a leaky pipe owned by Hess Corporation caused 320 barrels of brine to spill Sunday at the BLDU central tank facility about nine miles south of Tioga.

All but five barrels have been recovered.

Petro-Hunt said that 260 barrels of oil spilled, and was contained and recovered at an oil well site about 25 miles northeast of Watford City.

The cause was attributed to vandalism of tank valves.
