Three Bismarck businesses failed the tobacco compliance checks conducted April 19.

The Tobacco Compliance Check teams consisting of two teens ages 15 and 16, three Police Youth Bureau workers, and three Bismarck Police Department officers visited retail tobacco outlets in Bismarck and attempted to purchase tobacco products.

The teen buyers made no effort to disguise their age and wore clothing, hairstyles and makeup similar to what they ordinarily wear.

One team had no sales of their outlets checked. The other team had three sales.

The three outlets which failed the compliance check are Kmart, Little Dukes and Family Dollar.

Thirty-two outlets were checked.
