Shooting Suspect Arrested in Mont., Will be Extradited to McKenzie County

UPDATE: A man wanted in connection with a shooting in McKenzie County Saturday has surrendered.

The McKenzie County Sheriff's office says 33-year-old Kyle Fuchs contacted McKenzie County Investigators yesterday about the shooting south of Watford City. The report says Fuchs wanted to give a statement and surrender peacefully.

Monday evening Fuchs was taken in by the Roosevelt County Sheriff's office in Montana. He will be extradited back to McKenzie County and given an chance to tell his side of the story to investigators.

ORIGINAL STORY: On Saturday morning, McKenzie County Sheriff's deputies responded to a hospital for a report of a man with a gunshot wound. The victim stated that he was shot during an altercation south of Watford City.

The McKenzie County Sheriff's Department says the suspect, 33-year old Kyle Fuchs, discharged a handgun during the altercation and later fled the scene.

Fuchs was last seen in Dickinson, sources say he might be headed toward Montana. He is driving an older model, dark blue Ford pick-up truck, and is said to be dangerous and possibly armed. Fuchs has a criminal history of terrorizing and fleeing law enforcement.
