Police have identified the man whose body turned up in a pond in Mandan yesterday.
Police say that the man is 30-year-old Justin Gerou of Bismarck, who was just released from the Burleigh County Detention Center two weeks ago.
The police confirmed his identity after an autopsy this morning at the North Dakota Medical Examiner's office. They're waiting on the results of a toxicology report to determine how Gerou died.
"The biggest thing that we learned is that there was no trauma. He wasn't shot, he wasn't stabbed, he wasn't beaten to death. We do know that. We don't know how he died," said Lt. Lori Flaten, Mandan City Police Department.
Gerou was released from custody May 2 after spending two weeks in jail for possession of marijuana.
Mandan Police are asking anyone with information about where he's been since getting out of jail to call 667-3250.
