The Bismarck Police Department has released the name of the man who was shot in an officer involved shooting as 26-year-old Travis Gene Clark of Bismarck.

Clark was in surgery Sunday after the incident on the 1000 block of 1119 University Drive. It happened just before 8 O'clock.

Police have been looking for this man since Jan. 20 after he broke into his ex-girlfriend's house in Morton County with a gun.

"The victim believed the suspect would kill her and her child and then himself," said Bismarck Police in a press release.

Police say two officers were involved in the shooting. Neither were injured. They say the suspect failed to follow orders after getting in his car and reaching around. A revolver was found in the car. Clark is at Sanford Hospital.
