HUD Awards Minot $74.3 Million

The Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded the city of Minot $74.3 million, as part of the National Disaster Resilience Competition.

HUD chose Minot among 13 communities out of 40 applicants vying for their share of $1 billion. The communities have all experienced natural disasters, such as the 2011 Souris River flood.

Minot city leadership has said that flood protection costs for the city moving forward would likely total more than $100 million.
