Traffic congestion on Memorial Highway in Mandan will be cut back with the addition of traffic signals at two intersections.
The Mandan City Commission awarded to the project to Strata Corporation during Tuesday's meeting.
It will include a four-way light system at the intersection with 40th Avenue.
A permanent signal light will replace the hanging traffic light at the 46th Avenue intersection.
Strata bid $417,000 on the project.
"The city is expected cost share is at 10 percent of the total project amount, so the estimate on that is about $64,000. The local share would be paid for by city sales tax funds," said Justin Froseth, city engineer.
Construction is expected to be finished by September 1st.
